I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Highways obstructions, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Sunday 14 September 2025
Good morning, South Wales Police would like to issue the following information to residents, road users, participants and spectators in relation to the Admiral Swansea Bay 10K event taking place today:
The 10K begins at 11:00am. The race will follow its planned route from St Helen’s to Mumbles and back along the bay.
To ensure the safety of runners, marshals, spectators and other road users, several road closures and traffic restrictions are in place across Swansea from early this morning.
Key roads affected include Mumbles Road, Brynmill Lane, Sketty Lane, Guildhall Road South, and parts of Fairwood Road.
Residents living within the closure zones are asked to follow the advice provided by signage and marshals. Emergency services access will be maintained throughout the closures.
If you are planning to travel in or through Swansea today, please allow extra time, follow diversion notices and avoid the event zones where possible.
South Wales Police thanks the public for your cooperation and support which helps make this event safe and successful for everyone involved.
If you have urgent concerns during the event, please contact officers on the ground. For non-emergencies, use the usual non-emergency contact routes.
Stay safe, and good luck to all the runners.
